THE EVERYONE CONNECTS BIG EVENT
It was a gig bigger than we could ever imagine. People came from all walks of life
to connect, communicate and collaborate with thousands of others over a song that
had set the nation abuzz a month ago.
Months of planning and hard work was finally paid off when Everyone Connects launched
the biggest sing-along ever in Malaysia, right in the heart of Jalan Bukit Bintang.
Local celebrities, bands and fans came together in this unprecedented event to give
their support and collaboration.
Over 5,000 people gathered at the event, which was also streamed LIVE on our website
and viewed by almost 780,000 web users across the nation, thanks to TM. The big
event also garnered close to 2.5 million impressions for the LIVE streaming banner
across multiple websites.
We kicked off the party with a surprise act from one of our collaborators - a flash
mob of Stompers, who got the crowd going when they got them to play various beats
with different instruments. The act did not end there. We had an air guitar face
off, which was subsequently, followed by the public joining in to form a samba train
and mexican wave. What further shocked and puzzled the crowd was when our stompers
frozed immediately after that.
The atmosphere heated up as the crowd gained in numbers and the sing-along began.
Thousands of microphones were passed to the crowd as the hottest DJs in town took
over.
And then came the song that started it all. As the memorable riffs of Through My
Window played over the speakers, the crowd went wild. Even more so when one of the
earliest collaborators for the song, Bunkface took the stage. And Bunkface wasn’t
the only act to sing Through My Window. Reshmonu was also there to lend his voice
sending everyone into another sing-along frenzy when he appeared out of nowhere.
Even celebrities from our Banner Concerts didn’t want to miss out on the fun. Shila,
Tomok, Dafi, Mila & Akim; and Modread rocked the crowd with their own renditions
of Through My Window as the evening went on. This was followed by up and coming
bands chosen to have their own banner concerts, that included Rock & Roll John,
The Rodeo, Marionexxes, maddame..., Saving Grace Period, and Basolaye.
It was an event like no other. Even when it started to rain, the energy and spirit
that took over Jalan Bukit Bintang didn’t fade out. It was a huge first for Malaysia
and the event truly proved that when everyone’s connected, anything is possible.
